Requests of $1,000 – $5,000 may apply to our rolling deadline, where the typical turn-around time is no more than one month.

We have the larger grants process for instances when you CAN plan for the future. This smaller grants process is for unexpected and/or emergency expenses that arise for which you did not plan. Examples include:

  • Emergency funding for an organizational need
  • Capacity building (strategic planning, executive coaching, program evaluation, etc.)
  • Operating support
  • Funding new and exciting ideas you may have!

You may apply for one smaller/rolling grant and one large grant within a 12 month span. Being approved for one type of grant will not affect your chances of being approved or declined with the other.

This process has a monthly, rolling deadline. Requests received by the 1st of each month will be reviewed and decided by the end of the month. Requests received after the 1st will be considered the following month.

The first step in applying for funding from The Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation is to submit your request via our online platform. Please see Create a Login to set up your account. If you believe your organization has applied in the past, please reach out to us so that we can confirm whether or not an account has already been created for your organization before you create one for yourself.
Once logged in, click on “Apply” at the top of the page and then select “Rolling Deadline Request” process. Complete the required fields and submit.

Each application is given careful consideration. If necessary, a site visit may be requested from our trustees; however, site visits are not a mandatory part of our grantmaking process.

The Foundation Board of Trustees meet and review all requests submitted to the Rolling Deadline.
If your request is approved for funding by our Board, you will be sent an email notifying you of the grant details and when you might expect the grant agreement and payment. Required post-grant follow-ups/reports may be required; if so, they will be indicated in your grant agreement.

We recognize the amount of time required from you and all our grantees to compose and submit online reports. We do, however, want to hear about your successes (and yes, even the failures) surrounding the activities you accomplished during the grant period.
We may ask that grantees submit a short, post-grant report via our online system. In these instances, we ask only a few short questions about your activities with hopes that this does not become a burdensome task. Your due date for this report will be listed on the dashboard for your online account.
